Mojito

A Crowd Pleaser

The Mojito’s origins trace back to 16th-century Cuba, where it was known as "El Draque," named after the English pirate Sir Francis Drake. Sailors would mix local ingredients such as rum, sugar, lime, and mint to create a refreshing drink that helped combat scurvy and dysentery. Over centuries, this pirate’s remedy evolved into the sophisticated Mojito, now a staple of Cuban culture and a favorite of writer Ernest Hemingway. This classic cocktail includes 2 oz of white rum, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 6-8 fresh mint leaves, and soda water. Garnish with lime slices and a mint sprig for a touch of elegance.

Pina Colada

Timeless Classic

The Piña Colada, Puerto Rico’s national drink, was created in 1954 by bartender Ramón "Monchito" Marrero at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan. Tasked with inventing a new signature drink, Marrero blended rum, coconut cream, and pineapple juice to create the Piña Colada, which translates to "strained pineapple." The tropical flavours and creamy texture made it an instant hit, capturing the essence of island paradise in a glass. To enjoy this iconic drink, mix 2 oz of white rum, 1 oz of coconut cream, 1 oz of heavy cream, and 6 oz of fresh pineapple juice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and cherry for a true tropical vibe.

Margarita

Simple Elegance

Legend has it that the Margarita was invented in the late 1930s by a socialite named Margarita Sames, who concocted the drink for her friends at a house party in Mexico. Her friends were so enamored with the blend of tequila, lime juice, and triple sec that the cocktail was named after her. Over time, this refreshing drink, made with 2 oz of tequila, 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice, and 1 oz of triple sec, became a symbol of fun and relaxation, perfect for beach vacations and summer parties. Don’t forget to rim the glass with salt and garnish with a lime wedge!
